U.S. Extends Deadline for Anti-Dumping Ruling
New York, NY, March 7, 2011 -- The Department of Commerce has extended its deadline until mid-May for issuing the preliminary anti-dumping determination regarding engineered hardwood flooring imports from China.
Jonathan Train, president of the Alliance for Free Choice & Jobs in Flooring, said in a press release that he welcomes the extension, which are routinely granted by the department.
"Anything that allows the DOC to more thoroughly examine the facts of this case is a positive development," Train said.
Train said that the DOC questionnaires are highly detailed and complicated, even sometimes confusing.
The extension, however, does not affect the preliminary countervailing duty determination, which is expected on March 21, the alliance said.
