U.S. Business Centers Set for New Invista

Wichita, KS, Feb. 11—Invista has decided on its future U.S. headquarters sites, pending successful completion of the Invista sale from DuPont to KED Fiber Ltd. and KED Fiber, LLC, subsidiaries of Koch Industries, Inc. Current and future Invista leaders have determined that the new Invista will have four business centers in the United States. The locations for headquarters build on existing KoSa and Invista business centers near Charlotte, Atlanta and Wilmington, as well as Koch Industries’ presence in Wichita. .Near Wilmington, DE--either in northern Delaware, southeast Pennsylvania or southwest New Jersey--the transition will result in a base of about 250 employees from the apparel business, the performance fibers business, research and development, and some functional capabilities. .Near Charlotte, NC--there will be about 160 Invista employees, including the textile fibers leadership team and some functional capabilities. .The interiors business will be based near Atlanta with about 200 employees. .Invista corporate management, the leadership team for the polymers and resins business and a core team for the intermediates business will be based here. The Wichita presence will likely grow to about 200 people. The location decisions were driven by the functional and business leaders selected to help lead the new Invista. The key factor was evaluating where each group should be to most profitably operate their businesses. According to the Invista, KoSa and Koch teams planning for the transition, the predicted employment numbers are very rough estimates. Changes to these estimates or to future staffing plans will be determined by the business leaders based on their groups’ future needs. Related decisions remain for Invista, including choosing business centers outside the United States. For some time after the completion of the transaction, KoSa’s and INVISTA’s current worldwide offices will likely remain where they are. However, business leaders and transition team members from KoSa, Invista and Koch are beginning to focus on how to best consolidate these to add the most value to the new business.
