Unilin Wins Patent Case vs. Välinge in Dutch Court
The Hague, The Netherlands, February 5, 2007--The Dutch Court of Appeal has rejected the claim for patent infringement introduced by Välinge Innovation AB and the Beaulieu International Group, through its subsidiary Alloc AS, and has confirmed that the Uniclic-system is not infringing the Välinge patents EP 0 855 482 and EP 0 877 130.The judgement was issued February 1, 2007.
Unlin said that the Court states that the Välinge patents are limited to the so-called “play” and that the Uniclic-system does not have such play. Unilin has consistently supported that a glueless joint with pretension is the best guarantee to have a perfect floor.
The company said this decision confirms all previous rendered judgements between the parties in the Netherlands and in the US, that the Uniclic-system does not infringe any of the Välinge patents.
