Unilin To Help Market Berry, Alloc Technology

Dallas, TX, Jan. 17, 2011 -– Berry Floor, Alloc, and Flooring Industries have entered into a patent cooperation whereby Flooring Industries will become responsible for the sublicensing of specific patent portfolios owned by Berry Floor and Alloc.

Flooring Industries is the intellectual property company of Unilin.

These patent portfolios relate to bevel technology in floor and furniture planks, fire retarding plank technology, and laser technology for the manufacture of flooring planks.

“Berry Floor has been successfully implementing laser technology in its manufacturing process since the end of 2008,” said Carl Schulze, CEO of Berry Floor.

“The technology has been optimized since then and is now ready to be licensed out to third parties. With this cooperation, we will be able to use Flooring Industries’ licensing expertise and customer network to optimize the commercialization of the technology.”

Flooring Industries said it has similar agreements with agreements with Välinge and other companies.
