Unilin Pushes Forward With ITC Case

Thomasville, North Carolina, October 3, 2005 – Less than two months after the institution by the International Trade Commission of its investigation called ‘Certain laminated floor panels,’ 19 of the 32 parties have already chosen to drop out of the case. This summer, Unilin initiated the case seeking that the products being imported by these companies can no longer be imported into the US. These products are allegedly infringing on Unilin’s patent rights on glueless joints. The case will move forward quickly with a scheduled nine-day trial in April of next year. Once Unilin obtains a favorable decision, it will claim the damages it has incurred by the acts of each of the 32 defendants through separate proceedings in the district courts.
