Unilin Donates Laminate to Thomasville

Thomasville, NC, April 26, 2006--QuickStep laminate flooring manufacturer Unilin Flooring donated 600 sq. ft. of laminate flooring, underlayment and accessories to the city of Thomasville. Mayor Joe Bennett and chief electrical & mechanical inspector Albert Russell were on hand last Friday to accept the donation. Jon Foremsky, Unilin’s facilities and utilities manager and Dennis Carignan, facilities electrical engineer, presented the flooring. Mayor Bennett expressed his gratitude and ongoing support for Unilin and the jobs created since the company built a 600,000 sq. ft., high-tech manufacturing facility in Thomasville and began operations last summer. Unilin currently employs about 220 people and will eventually create over 100 additional jobs. Unilin also made a recent donation of 350 sq. ft. of laminate flooring to Triad Academy. The flooring was auctioned at the Triad Academy annual auction which raises funds to assist the school's growth and to enhance the offering to students or to fund scholarships. This year’s auction was held on March 31 at Childress Vineyards. Unilin Flooring NC, LLC is a division of the Unilin Group, a multi-faceted company founded in Europe in 1960 and recently acquired by Mohawk Industries, Inc. Based in Belgium, Unilin Flooring is the world’s largest manufacturer of Uniclic glueless products. Unilin’s laminate floors, QuickStep, are currently one of the top selling laminate flooring brands in the world.
