Unilin Acts Against Patent Violations at Domotex
Hannover, Germany, January 28, 2008--Unilin obtained five injunctions from a court in Hamburg, Germany to force the removal from Domotex of products that Unilin claimed infringed on its patents.
The Jan. 11 orders were against Yekalon, Stepfloor, Jiangsu Palunke, CWS and Shenyang Sanhe Impregnated Paper.
Unilin was settled four of the five cases during the fair so that the bailiff did not have to remove the whole booth in those instances. All products of Palunke were taken by the bailiff because no settlement could be reached.
“Unilin will continue to monitor international markets,” according to Raymond Hegarty, managing director. “Our glueless technology has been patented in more than 50 countries. We will take all necessary means to prevent patent-infringing products disturbing the markets.”
Flooring Industries, based in Luxembourg, is the intellectual property company within the Unilin Group.
Flooring Industries grants licenses with regard to Unilin’s patent rights, most dealing with its click technology, the so-called Uniclic.
