Uniboard Ohio Plant Gets FSC Certification

Fostoria, OH, Jan. 30, 2009--The U.S. surface-coating plant of the Pfleiderer subsidiary Uniboard in Fostoria was recently certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

In addition to the Fostoria plant, the Canadian Uniboard plants in Val-d'Or and Sayabec are also FSC certified. This year the Pfleiderer subsidiary will also arrange for its production facility in North Carolina to be independently audited in terms of its sustainable timber operations.

"As a responsible producer of engineered wood, we support the principle of sustainable forestry, which also helps to optimize the forest's economic benefits," said Axel Knörr, who is in charge of environmental and safety management at Pfleiderer AG. The group does not process any tropical woods.
