Uniboard NC Particleboard Plant Certified by FSC

Neumarkt, Germany, Sept. 8, 2009--Uniboard, a subsidiary of Pfleiderer AG recently had its particleboard plant in Moncure, N.C. certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

The company said that by the end of this year, the new production of medium density fiberboard at this site will be audited in terms of its sustainable use of wood.

The Canadian Uniboard plants in Val-d’Or and Sayabec and the U.S. facility in Fostoria, Ohio have also received FSC certification. And at the end of 2009, the Pfleiderer subsidiary will have its production in Mont-Laurier, Quebec, audited in terms of its FSC suitability by an independent institution.

The latter also applies to the new MDF plant in Moncure, as soon as it is completed. The new production line, which is designed to reach an annual capacity of 400,000 cubic meters, is scheduled to go into operation this fall.
