UK’s Flowcrete to Acquire Ivory Industrials

Sandbach, England, October 17, 2005--Flowcrete has signed agreement to acquire Ivory Industrials, South Africa's largest and longest-established resin flooring company, according to the Manchester Evening News. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Flowcrete manufactures specialist industrial flooring, seamless terrazzo, decorative resin flooring, self levelling floor screeds, underfloor heating, corrosion protection and car park deck waterproofing systems. It now has 22 offices worldwide with manufacturing plants in the UK, USA, Malaysia, Sweden, Belgium and Brazil, as well as South Africa. Ivory has factories in both Durban and Johannesburg producing products which are sold across Southern and sub Saharan Africa. The announcement comes three years after Flowcrete doubled its size following another international deal, with the acquisition of Swedish-based resin flooring manufacturer, Perstorp Construction Chemicals. Ian Harrison, the current managing director of Flowcrete in South Africa is to take over the management of Ivory Industrials following completion of the deal.
