UK Recycling Program Converted to Company

London, England, July 20, 2011 -- Due to the success of the UK’s award-winning vinyl flooring recycling program, Recofloor Limited has been created by the program's founders Altro and Polyflor.

The change of status to a limited company coincides with Recofloor heading for a record-breaking year, having collected nearly 190 tons of waste material in the first six months of 2011 – equalling all of last year's collections.

June also saw the 500th ton collected since Recofloor was founded by manufacturers Altro and Polyflor in 2009.

Managed by Axion Consulting, the industry-led take-back initiative collects and recycles smooth uplifted vinyl and smooth and safety off-cuts.

Recofloor Project Manager, Jane Gardner, said the new structure will result in an improved service for collectors with more drop-off sites.

Recofloor has 330 members across the UK and Ireland, comprising flooring contractors, drop-off sites at flooring distributors and waste transfers.
