Tricycle’s SIM V2 Wins Best of NeoCon Gold for Sof

Chicago, July 2—Tricycle Inc. has won a Best of NeoCon Gold Award for Software Technology. This is the second such award for Tricycle, last year the company debuted SIM V2™ at IIDEX/NeoCon® Canada where its’ innovative approach to sample reduction won a Best of NeoCon® Gold Award for Sustainable Design. “These awards are confirmation of how diligently Tricycle is applying technology to some very specific problems in the industry,” said Jonathan Bragdon, Tricycle’s President. “We are striving to speed up the buying process for our clients while providing convenient tools for the A&D community. There is vast potential for progressive manufacturers trying to reduce waste, cut costs and ultimately improve their position in the industry.” Samples are, and will continue to be necessary to the design process, but they are a headache to everyone involved. Currently an estimated US $1 billion is spent annually by carpet manufacturers on sampling, shipping and presenting products. A number of alternatives have been introduced throughout the last decade, not only because of the potential reduction in costs, but also because of long sales lead times, disruptive production schedules, and most recently, environmental impact. A survey conducted by Tricycle at NeoCon® 2002 revealed that 94% of interior designers would like to use SIM prints in their carpet specification process. The largest commercial carpet manufacturers are already integrating SIM into their marketing and product development areas. With advances like this under foot, carpet manufacturers are poised to lead the way for sustainable practices within the wider textile industry. Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Tricycle™ provides technology and services to the flooring industry, including the new SIM+FACTORY™ bureau service.
