Tricycle Wins Inaugural Innovation in Technology A

Chattanooga, TN, July 22--Tricycle, Inc. won the first-ever Innovation in Technology award from the Chattanooga Technology Council yesterday, presented at the Kruesi Spirit of Innovation Awards. The Spirit of Innovation Award is America's first community innovation award, created in 2001. This year is the inaugural year for the Technology Innovation Award, which draws from the pool of applicants for the Kruesi awards, recognizing a local company that has developed or applied an innovative technology that has great potential for commercial viability and reflects positively on the region. Tricycle was honored for its contribution to interiors manufacturing and interior design, and in particular its simulation technology. SIM from Tricycle digitally replicates the manufacturing process for carpets and textiles, for product development as well as samples sent to customers. Tricycle's simulation is the only simulation accepted by architects and interior designers as accurate enough to be useful in their design process, and has won the company four NeoCon awards (the "Oscars" of contract interiors). In the past twelve months, Tricycle has saved manufacturers $1 million, kept more than 36,000 pounds of carpet samples out of landfill, and reduced long wait times for custom carpet samples to a 24 hour delivery.
