Tricycle Wins Design Award at NeoCon

Chattanooga, TN, June 28--Tricycle, Inc., a leader in surface simulation and design technology, was awarded an International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Creative Excellence Award at the 2004 NeoCon® World’s Trade Fair. Tricycle will be featured in the August issue of Contract magazine. "This is our third consecutive NeoCon award and we’re pleased to add design excellence to our technology and sustainability Gold awards," said Jonathan Bragdon, Tricycle President. "These acknowledgements are a reflection of the skills we invest into our products and services." The exhibit featured leading manufacturers’ sustainable sampling practices using Tricycle’s SIM technology. The design led visitors through the sampling lifecycle and then illustrated less wasteful prototyping alternatives. The theme, "a new class of sampling," was emphasized through the use of a custom 22 ft chalkboard inscribed with diagrams and notes, DNA-like mobiles, lighting inspired by lab equipment and wall-mounted specimen boxes featuring carpet and SIM prints. Ben Horner and Michael Hendrix at Tricycle designed the booth. Tricycle’s previous awards include an IIDEX/NeoCon Canada Gold for Sustainable Design and a NeoCon Gold for Software Technologies. Additional creative awards have recently been given by the New York One Club and the New York Type Director’s Club. "Tricycle has a design culture at its center," said Michael Hendrix, Vice President of Brand Design. "In a fashion-driven industry it is essential to seamlessly integrate our products into our customers’ brands and winning the award from the IIDA is an indication that we have established the resources to successfully meet that objective."
