Tricycle to Exhibit at International Awards for De

Chattanooga, TN, July 6--Tricycle, Inc. has been invited to exhibit as a finalist in the world's largest design and innovation awards competition, Copenhagen's INDEX: awards. In order to compete, designs must demonstrably improve the lives of large numbers of people. Tricycle was nominated in the work category (one of five categories) for its contributions to architecture, interior design and interiors manufacturing. Tricycle offers products and services that erase design waste and improve manufacturers' economic, social and environmental sustainability. The nomination came by way of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), which chose Tricycle from among all applicants as representing the best of socially responsible design in the United States. In May, an international jury named the company as a finalist. Other finalists in Tricycle's category include Google, nominated for furthering the universal mass market for democratized information, and the Ford plant green roof in Michigan, which is the world's largest example of a commercial green roof, designed to improve stormwater runoff and energy use. Winners will be announced on September 23, when a prize of €100,000 will be presented in each category. The exhibition of finalists will run in five public squares in Copenhagen, from September 23 - November 13. "The INDEX: award competition is an international leader in shaping how design touches everyday life," said Tricycle chief brand officer Michael Hendrix. "By insisting that 'design' includes not only products but also strategies and services, and that it can and should improve the lives of people, INDEX: is shaping the present and the future of design. We are pleased that Tricycle has been chosen as representative of these ideals."
