Tricycle Researcher Named to Board of USGBC Chapte

Chattanooga TN, October 26, 2006--Anj McClain, market researcher at Chattanooga sustainable design company Tricycle, Inc., has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) East Tennessee chapter. The USGBC is the nation’s foremost coalition of leaders from every sector of the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. More than 6,400 member organizations and more than 80 regional chapters are united to advance the organization’s mission of transforming the building industry to sustainability. Tricycle enables the interiors industry to work toward greater economic, social and environmental good. The company launched a transformation of how interiors products are manufactured and marketed in 2002, with dematerializing design tools and services using SIM from Tricycle textile simulation. In the four years since, the company has earned international design and sustainable leadership honors from the American Institute of Architects, American Society of Interior Designers, International Interior Design Association, Business Week magazine, the International Designers Society of America, the Smithsonian Institution/ Cooper Hewitt National Design museum and more. At Tricycle, McClain’s research and expertise help to chart a course for sustainability that benefits the design lives of architects and interior designers. A graduate of the interior design program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, before coming to Tricycle she completed a six-month internship at Southface, Atlanta’s leading sustainability consulting and advocacy firm.
