Torlys Makes Flooring from Recycled Leather

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Sept. 25, 2008--Torlys has a new flooring made of 100 percent recycled post-industrial  leather.

The company said that while leather floors have been produced before, they have been available only in glue-down formats for limited and customized applications, usually at a very high price.

The floors are also made with a cork backing.

The post-industrial leather is recycled from the manufacture of jackets, upholstery, belts, shoes and handbags. The leather surface wear layer is 2.7 mm thick.

Torlys sells hardwood, cork, laminate and linoleum flooring.
