Barnwell, SC, August 28, 2006--Kronotex USA recently reported the appointment of Tim Tipton as National Sales Director. Tipton, 35, joined Kronotex on June 12, 2006, after nearly five years with laminate manufacturer QuickStep, where he most recently served as both director of retail sales and director of the company’s builder division. He brings 16 years of flooring industry experience to the Kronotex team.
He will be in charge of the recently revived Formica brand.
“My experience in working with Tim in the past demonstrates that he is a visionary who can guide our team and strengthen our relationships with flooring distributors and their specialty retail customers,” said Ken Peden, Kronotex xecutive vice president.
Tipton will call upon his previous experience in launching a new brand, having been one of the key players in the launch and growth of the QuickStep brand. He notes, however, that Formica’s established, well-respected name means success is ripe for the picking.
After leaving the laminate industry in 2004, Formica returned this spring as Formica Flooring, and is poised for takeoff in the laminate category.
