Wilmington, DE, Jun. 4--Timber Resources International, Inc. announced that pursuant to a strategic growth plan unveiled last month, the company formed a subsidiary, TRI Exotic Woods, LLC to market and sell hardwood flooring.
TRI Exotic Woods will operate out of Norfolk, VA where it has set up a showroom and warehouse. The formation of the subsidiary is the company's first step in a larger plan to expand into the home improvement industry.
"In the last year, we have achieved significant success with our premier Internet portal for information on wood and wood applications, and the timing is now appropriate to invest additional resources to accelerate our momentum, while leveraging our existing customer base into new, high-growth, value-added revenue streams," commented Aziz Hirji, President and Chairman of Timber Resources International.
Timber Resources International further announced the appointment of Fred Guarnieri to the position of President of TRI Exotic Woods. Guarnieri has more than 20 years' experience in the furniture and home improvement business. As President, Guarnieri will help to define future product direction as well as coordinating specific product and market development efforts. "Fred Guarnieri is an innovative leader having tremendous wealth of experience, including International business operations, marketing and sales," said Aziz Hirji. "He brings to TRI Exotic Woods a broad range of professional skills, and we are indeed fortunate to have him on our team."
