Beijing, China, July 5--Tibetan carpet, Persian carpet and Turkey carpet are the top three best-known carpets in the world, while the home of Tibetan carpet is located in the Gyangtse County, Shigatse. Gyangtse rugs and carpet enjoy a history of more than 600 years, famous for their close texture, traditional designs and vivid colors, according to People's Daily Online.
Gyangtse carpet has gradually become a unique handicraft work of Tibet after the founding of the Tibet Autonomous Region. In 1973, Gyangtse rugs entered international market under the brand "Tibetan carpet from China".
