Three Flooring Industry Companies Join INSTALL Pro

St. Louis, MO, January 6, 2006--Three members of the flooring industry, Roppe Corporation, Flexco Floors, and Wagner Electronics, are the newest endorsers of the International Standards and Training Alliance (INSTALL). Roppe Corporation is a supplier of rubber and vinyl flooring products. Flexco also produces rubber, vinyl and static-control flooring products. Wagner offers a line of hand-held moisture meters. The three companies join 33 other flooring mills and manufacturers who formally endorse the training and standards of INSTALL. As part of their endorsement of the INSTALL program, Roppe, Flexco and Wagner technical and education experts will help steer the curriculum of INSTALL to make sure what is currently needed in the field is being taught at INSTALL training centers throughout the United States and Canada. “We look forward to the input these experts will provide. We value their knowledge and we know it will enhance the training of INSTALL professionals,” said Jim Schmid, INSTALL director. “That communication is what makes INSTALL training so valuable, because it keeps our professionals current in what is needed on the job site.” INSTALL was created through the United Brotherhood of Carpenters to address the shortage of properly trained flooring installers. The program’s goal is to improve the skill level of workers in order to meet industry demands. The INSTALL curriculum is developed through input provided by installation and education experts at leading mills and manufacturers and through a labor-management committee of veterans with a combined 450 years of experience.
