Thomas Industries Sees Management Changes

Dalton, GA, May 25, 2006--Thomas Industries, LLC, a manufacturer of broadloom carpet for the hospitality industry, residential home centers, and other specialty markets, announced today several important management changes. Effective immediately, Jerry L. Thomas, chief executive officer, will assume the additional title of co-chairman of the board of directors and will lead a special committee of the board focused on identifying strategic business opportunities. Due to the rapid pace of change in the flooring industry, which includes rising raw material costs, consolidation of the supply chain and expansion of global markets, Thomas believes that it is imperative to the company's continued success to devote his energy and experience to identifying niche market opportunities where Thomas Industries can be a global leader. Thomas also announced that Dick Bierie has been promoted from senior vice president of marketing and sales, to the position of president. Bierie, who joined Thomas Industries in 2005, has over 30 years experience in the flooring industry, including positions as president of Olde Savannah Hardwood Flooring, president of Mannington Commercial, and several senior positions with Mohawk Industries. In his new role with the company, Bierie will be responsible for day-to-day management of the business. Bierie will also become a director on the company's board. John Everett will continue as chief operating officer, with responsibility for manufacturing, product sourcing, and business integration. Everett is supported by an excellent team, including Tim Hixson, vice president superior yarns and Roger Miller, vice president tufting operations. Miller joined the company in March, 2006, and brings over 30 years experience in the carpet and textiles industries. Mr. Joseph Durnford, chairman of Thomas Industries, commented that, "the management changes that Jerry Thomas is making are completely consistent with what I would expect from a rapidly growing company in a dynamic global market. Jerry is a great entrepreneur and partner, and we support his efforts to build a management team that will ensure that the company has the leadership and innovative thinking it needs to thrive long-term. We are confident that Dick will provide great day-to-day management of the business, and are excited that Jerry will be focusing on the growth of our company."
