After a Spring run in Chicago and Boston, Filicia—in partnership with Karastan and WearDated Carpet Fiber—took his interactive workshop to audiences in Phoenix (October 6) and Seattle (October 11). The
Filicia is an acclaimed interior designer to the stars, heralded for his innovative decorating magic on Bravo TV’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and The Style Network’s “Dress My Nest”. His “Decorating From the Floor Up” seminars, held live at select venues, take attendees on a creative journey that begins with a Karastan rug or carpet. Along the way, Filicia shares his advice, answers decorating questions, and invites volunteers on-stage to assist in the selection of furnishings, textiles, wall coverings and window treatments. Through the magic of multi-media, Filicia fully decorates a room—and then redecorates it— to demonstrate how the floor can inspire a variety of looks.
“Events like ‘Decorating From the Floor Up’ reinforce the Karastan brand, while motivating and educating consumers.” explains Connie Berry, director of marketing for Karastan. “We’ve amplified this program with in-store ‘DFFU’ seminars that are conducted by traveling design experts.”
Karastan is planning several “live” seminars with Filicia in 2008 and is organizing more DFFU events on the local level.
