Teregren Intros Quick Ship Container Program

Bainbridge, WA, October 23, 2006--Teragren, the nation’s leading manufacturer of environmentally friendly bamboo flooring, panels and veneer, today announced a new “Quick Ship” program that will drastically reduce shipment times from its manufacturing facility in China. Under the new program, inventory for select Teragren flooring and accessory products will be shipped within two weeks of ordering rather than four weeks – ultimately reducing delivery times by approximately 30 percent. Historically, Teragren manufactured products to order and then shipped them. The company has now established a warehouse in China that will be stocked with its high velocity products. “Maintaining inventory in China will allow us to fill our orders faster. This is something we know that our customers have wanted,” said Teragren President and CEO David Knight. “We strive to deliver the best service in the industry, and reducing the time from order to final delivery will help us meet that goal.” Available immediately, the program applies to several of Teragren’s top selling product lines, including: Signature Naturals in Flat or Vertical Grain, Natural or Caramelized colors; Signature Colors in Espresso and Charcoal; Craftsman Wide Plank in Flat Grain Caramelized and Vertical Grain Caramelized, as well as Teragren’s coordinating Stair Parts, Base Molding, Base Shoe, T-Mold, Baby-Threshold and Reducer. The program is intended to better serve customers at all levels by allowing distributors to more effectively manage their Teragren inventory and move Teragren’s flooring products more quickly to their retailers and in turn, consumers. Teragren – which also manufactures other bamboo flooring products and a variety of bamboo panels and veneer for the furniture and cabinet industries – expects to add more of its products to the Quick Ship program in the future. Teragren will continue to maintain supplemental inventory at its two U.S. distribution centers, where products are delivered to customers anywhere in the U.S. and Canada quickly, though at a higher price. An industry innovator, Teragren earlier this year launched its Synergy Strand Bamboo flooring, a product created through a patented manufacturing process that fuses together bamboo strands with an environmentally safe adhesive, resulting in flooring that is 100 percent harder than oak. In June, the company announced that it had secured exclusive rights to the bamboo strand patent in the U.S. and Mexico. “Acquiring rights to these patents allows Teragren to better control the quality of all strand bamboo products, including strand bamboo flooring,” said Knight.
