Tennant Sales Force Gains IICRC Certification

Minneapolis, MN, June 29--Tennant Company, the world’s leading manufacturer of surface maintenance equipment, today announced it has advanced to become the only such company to offer comprehensive carpet care solutions. The assertion follows the June certification of the company’s North American sales force by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration (IICRC), through which 111 Tennant sales consultants became IICRC-certified commercial carpet maintenance technicians. It also follows the May roll-out of Tennant’s complete line of carpet-care products. “What Tennant is doing with its sales force is unprecedented in this industry. I’m not aware of any other company that has put forth this kind of leadership effort to ensure its end-users have not only the best products but the best practices to maintain their carpets,” said Jeff Bishop, administrator of Clean Care Seminars, an IICRC-approved training school that led Tennant’s 40-hour sales force education and training session. “Tennant has just elevated the professionalism of its sales consultants and pushed the industry toward true solution-based selling.” The minimum IICRC training requirement is 14 hours. Demonstrating its commitment to becoming the industry leaders in carpet care, Tennant extended its training to 20 hours of carpet care certification training and 20 hours of specific product education on its new line of carpet-care vacuums and sweepers. Training and education seminar topics ranged from commercial carpet construction and installation to the chemistry and principles of carpet cleaning; from the methods of commercial carpet cleaning to the long-term effects of proper and improper carpet maintenance. Tennant’s certified maintenance technicians can now educate end-users on best practices in carpet care and, as appropriate, offer end-users a diploma in carpet care technology. “Tennant Company and its Tennant and Nobles brands have just raised the industry standard for carpet care and maintenance,” said Stan Mierzejewski, field marketing manager for Tennant Company. “And our customers are the real winners. We are now equipped to better serve our customers with industry-leading equipment and in-depth expertise, which means our customers can achieve a higher level of pride, productivity and satisfaction.” “Our customers were thrilled when Tennant introduced its new line of industry-leading vacuums and sweepers in May. They are even more excited that Tennant now also offers the most extensive carpet care knowledge in the industry. I don’t think any of us yet realize the truly positive impact this certification will have on our customers, their personnel and the industry as a whole,” said Mike Barnes, Tennant Company’s Eastern division general sales manager. In May, Tennant Company introduced the Tennant 3110 and 3120 and Nobles UltraGlide vacuums, an integrated suite of quality commercial upright vacuums that offers unprecedented ease of use and comfort and unsurpassed performance. The company also introduced the 24-inch Tennant 3610 and Nobles Scout sweepers, dual-purpose vacuum/sweepers designed to clean both carpeted and hard floor surfaces. The new product lines ensure that Tennant now has a complete, comprehensive and industry-leading carpet-care offering.
