Tarkett to Produce Commercial Vinyl in Russia

Moscow, Russia, December 17—It was reported last month by Interfax that international company group Tarkett intends to invest roughly 30 million euros ($39.8M) in the production of commercial vinyl floor coverings in the town of Otradny in the Samara region. The report was attributed to a Tarkett spokesman. The report quoted the spokesman as saying "This is French investment, inasmuch as the company Tarkett was organized in France. The new production will not only be the most modern, but also one of the largest in Europe. Its products will be targeted at markets both in Western and Eastern Europe, including markets in Russia and the CIS [Commonwealth of Independent States]."
