Tarkett Reports Higher Sales in 2008
Nanterre, France, May 26, 2009--Tarkett said 2008 sales of 2.069 billion euros were up 1.9% over 2007, driven by growth in Eastern Europe and sports surfacing, particularly artificial turf.
In the face of the economic slowdown in the second half of the year, Tarkett said it focused on developing its operational flexibility and cost structure while reducing its need for financing.
EBITDA before restructuring costs, rose to 230 million euros (11.1% of sales compared to 10.9% in 2007).
"Tarkett has demonstrated its capacity to adapt to a difficult economic environment, delivering an improved financial performance and the resources to continue its investment in strategic acquisitions," said CEO Michel Giannuzzi.
