Tarkett Releases 2025 Sustainability Report
Solon, OH, April 21, 2026 - Tarkett released its 2025 Sustainability Statement, audited by independent third parties and published in full compliance with the EU CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) legislation.
During the past year, Tarkett made major progress on its sustainability roadmap:
- 43% of the company’s energy consumption comes from renewable sources, and 16 plants purchase 100% renewable electricity, including Chagrin Falls and Middlefield (Ohio) and Dalton Smith and Calhoun (Georgia). Dalton Smith and Calhoun achieved 100% renewable electricity coverage for the first time in 2025 through the purchase of RECs (renewable energy certificates).
- 160,000 tons of recycled materials were used in production in 2025, representing 20% of recycled raw materials. The goal is to reach 30% by 2030. Across its carpet manufacturing sites in North America, Tarkett has begun using low-carbon nylon with 100% recycled content for the Dynex SD fibers of its commercial carpet products: Powerbond hybrid carpet, Ethos carpet tile and Flex-Aire cushion carpet tile. This solution will lead to an increase of over 4,000 tons per year in recycled raw materials and a reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of 19 ktCO2e per year.
- Coupled with the procurement of 100% renewable electricity at its carpet plants in Dalton and Calhoun, this will ultimately lead to lowering the carbon footprint of Tarkett commercial carpet products manufactured in North America by about 50%, as demonstrated by the products’ specific Environmental Product Declarations.
- Tarkett’s energy efficiency efforts span dozens of initiatives, including a heat recovery process from the chilling system at its Farnham (Quebec) site, which reduces GHG emissions by 1,900 tCO2e per year.
- Tarkett’s ReStart take-back and recycling program is now deployed in 29 countries across five continents. Over the past 16 years, 129,000 tons of end-of-life flooring has been collected across eight flooring recycling centers.
- In 2025, Tarkett North America implemented an improved in-house, circular recycling processfor its ethos carpet tiles, which optimizes the potential reuse of the product layers, including the PVB backing materials being used to make new ethos backing.
- Committed to diversity and inclusion, the share of women in management positions reached 29%, progressing toward the global goal of 33% by 2030.
Tarkett also continues to bolster its ongoing ReStart partnerships-valuable assets in the company's commitment to circularity. For example, a years-long partnership with a company based in Dalton, Georgia, has enabled Tarkett to recycle its collected vinyl products, including LVT and homogeneous and heterogeneous vinyl sheet, into new automotive mats.
