Tarkett Receives Two Green Good Design Awards

Solon, OH, May 9, 2023 -Tarkett received two Green Good Design Awards for its Inspired Nature and LinoFloor xf2 and LinoWall xf2 collections.

One of Tarkett’s award-winning collections, Inspired Nature, is a carbon-neutral collection of modular carpet and Powerbond hybrid resilient sheet, along with a coordinating digitally printed LVT. The collection’s modular options are offered on Tarkett's ethos Modular with Omnicoat Technology carpet backing. Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver, ethos is non-PVC, made with PVB film from recycled windshields and safety glass, and contains 48% and 64% overall recycled content. Tarkett has analyzed and optimized 100% of ethos materials for human and environmental health. At the end of its life, Tarkett’s ethos Modular carpet tiles can be recycled through the company’s ReStart program, providing raw material for the production of new ethos products. This example of Tarkett’s closed-loop recycling exemplifies the company’s continual progress toward a circular economy.

Inspired Nature’s hybrid resilient options are offered on Powerbond RS, the first soft-surface floorcovering Certified asthma and allergy friendly by Allergy Standards Limited, a certification program operated in collaboration with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. Powerbond RS contributes to better indoor air quality with low VOC emissions, including a pre-applied adhesive. In testing, 95% of allergens were removed effectively with a simple dry vacuuming.

The second Tarkett collection recognized with a Green Good Design Award, LinoFloor xf2 and LinoWall xf2 are carbon-negative from “cradle to gate.” The collection has been made with biobased, rapidly renewable materials in Tarkett’s Narni, Italy facility since 1898: linseed oil, pine rosin, wood and cork flour, and jute. The Narni facility operates with 100% renewable electricity, 34% self-generated energy, a 100% closed-loop water system, and 0% production waste to landfill.
