Tarkett Expands Residential Sheet Vinyl Collection

Whitehall, PA, February 9, 2006--Tarkett continues to expand its collection of residential sheet vinyl with the introduction of City View and additions to its Preference line, enhancing the breadth of its selections offering style and durability at a price point to fit any remodeling budget. “We’ve seen ongoing consumer demand for updates in vinyl flooring in a range of designs, patterns and colors,” says Mark Brown, director of marketing, Tarkett Residential. “With the addition of City View and expansion of Preference, Tarkett Residential offers consumers a full palette of valued-added resilient flooring, styled to complement popular trends in home décor.” The new City View collection features Tarkett’s exclusive Nature’s Touch finish, designed to capture the realistic look and feel of natures most sought after surfaces including stones, slates and woods, enabling homeowners to truly experience their floor’s beauty. City View is available in 5 metropolitan patterns to complement today’s most prevalent urban décor trends. Fashioned for a more contemporary look, patterns include Stoneridge Park, Ceramica Boulevard, Le Pave Royal, Cherry Hill and Granito Cliff, offered in a total of 17 colors. City View is ideal for the remodel market, as it provides a unique price/value proposition. In addition, City View offers an easy to reach upgrade of high quality for the builder and property management channels. Further expanding its choices in resilient vinyl flooring, Tarkett is enhancing its Preference line of resilient sheet vinyl flooring with three new patterns and 13 new colors. Updates to the Preference patterns include include Mountain Side - a traditional 12” paver; Oaken - a stylized 3” oak plank; and Riverview a 12” ceramic look. In addition, new colors have been added to the top selling Bayhill 9” stone tile, and to the overall marble pattern Plainfield. All styles in Tarkett’s City View are available in a sturdy 60 ml overall thickness and a 12 mil wear surface with urethane with an 8-year comprehensive warranty against rips, tears, gouges and indentations. Preference features a 60 mil overall thickness with a 10 mil PVC wear surface, and is supported with a 6-year warranty. Patterns in the City View collection will retail for approximately $1.60 to $2.10 per square foot and be available through Tarkett distributors beginning in February 2006. The additions to the Preferences collection will be priced consistently with other patterns in the line, at approximately $1.10 to $1.50 per square foot.
