Tarkett Develops New Logo

Farnham, Quebec, Nov. 6--Following the recent announcement that Domco Tarkett is changing its corporate name to Tarkett, the company is introducing a new corporate logo that reflects its new identity and global profile. "As we look to increase our brand identity and leverage our full potential in the flooring industry, we chose a new corporate symbol that defines our new image and our new direction while preserving a corporate heritage based on professional expertise and quality of workmanship," said Ulf Mattsson, president and CEO, Tarkett Inc. The new corporate symbol will be used by all divisions to sharpen the company's profile in all market segments. It features a simple design concept. The sphere clearly denotes Tarkett's global presence. The suggested movement inside the sphere conveys Tarkett's continuous development and commitment to innovation. Blue, considered the most universally recognized color, was selected to underscore professionalism, industry expertise and trustworthiness--traits associated with the company by customers in recent interviews. The combination of gray and blue in the sphere--natural colors of earth and water--serve as a reminder of the company's environmental awareness policy." The new logo was tested with several consumer focus groups as well as residential and commercial customers, both in North America and Europe. The Tarkett Group also will use the logo worldwide to reinforce the overall commitment to raising the corporation's profile globally as a $1.5 billion force in the flooring industry. The new corporate logo will be transitioned in print materials this fall, with the full launch taking place at Surfaces 2004, as announced earlier this year.
