Tarkett Denies Unilin's Patent Claims

Cleveland, OH, Oct. 9, 2008--Tarkett Inc. said that its laminate flooring does not infringe on Unilin patents, contrary to recent litigation brought by Unilin against Tarkett Inc., Clarion Boards Inc., Clarion Laminates LLC and AT Clarion Group LLC.

Tarkett said that while it has not been served with the lawsuit, it denies claims that its laminate flooring products, which incorporates the Valinge locking system, infringe on any Unilin patents.

Tarkett said it has license agreements in place with both Valïnge and Unilin, but has chosen to use the Valïnge technology.

“Our distributors and retailers should feel secure and confident that Tarkett Laminate flooring products, under a license with Valïnge, utilize its locking system and do not infringe on any Unilin patents,” said Gary Finseth, Tarkett Residential Marketing Director.
