Ennenda, Switzerland/Nanterre, France, June 29, 2006--Tarkett AG confirmed the sale of Commercial Carpet activities to the Enia Carpet Group.
The company said the sale was effected June 28.
Tarkett’s Commercial Carpet segment includes the two companies Tecsom SAS, Sedan/France, and Tecsom Revestimientos SA, Pamplona/Spain, with a total workforce of 440 employees.
The company said its decision to sell Tecsom was made in line with the group’s global strategy to concentrate its commercial activities on its core business with a focus on homogeneous and heterogeneous floorings as well as sports floorings.
With the acquisition of Tecsom, the Enia Carpet Group will expand its product portfolio and distribution network and also establish itself as Europe’s leading company in the high-value segment of residential and commercial carpet floorings.
Worldwide, Tarkett produces and markets approximately 270 million m² of floorings. With a global workforce of 7,400 employees, the group achieves annual sales amounting to € 1,600 million.
Enia Carpets operates 8 production centers and sales organizations throughout Europe with a workforce of more than 1,250 employees.
The company’s annual sales amount to € 195 million.
