Tarkett Commercial Recolors Optima Line
Houston, TX, November 2--To stay on top of the current trends in the commercial marketplace and reinforce its position as a global leader in the flooring industry, Tarkett Commercial has worked worldwide to study design trends and forecasts to ensure that its Optima homogeneous flooring continues to reflect the most current colors. In the first re-coloring in six years for the line, Optima is now expanded to 33 tasteful colors, effective November 2004. In keeping with the hottest elements in design, the line includes retro-inspired colors like chili, orange, lime, lemon, tobacco, azure and pistachio. Additionally, neutral options are increased with new beige tones such as khaki and sand, and new white and gray shades. “With its basic, timeless colors and striking accent complements, our new Optima colorations offer customers the opportunity to use their creativity to develop interiors that are bold and exciting, yet classic and elegant,” explains Gilles de Beaumont, president of Tarkett Commercial in North America. “Additionally, the proven quality, long lifecycle and ease-of-maintenance of the product makes it the perfect choice for any commercial application, from schools and hospitals to stores and corporate interiors.” Optima, the best-selling homogeneous flooring product in the world with over 70 million square yards installed to date, features a travertine design that utilizes special pigments and granules of transparent material to give a beautiful depth to the classic and neutral colors. The product is also available in both sheet and tile formats, providing designers and specifiers with an extremely versatile flooring product for any application. Optima is also a Tarkett iQ floor, which means it provides designers, specifiers and facility managers with increased advantages to other resilient flooring when it comes to overall quality, performance, design and lifecycle costs. With iQ floors, dry buffing is recommended, keeping heavy, wet cleaning to a minimum. Additionally, no polish or wax is ever needed throughout the life of the floor, often reducing maintenance costs by up to 30 percent compared to traditional cleaning methods. Tarkett’s iQ flooring products also received an Environmental Profile Certification ‘A’ rating from the U.K.’s Building Research Establishment (BRE), and was the first resilient flooring to meet BRE’s classification for the Green Guide top rating, which served as the basis for the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. iQ products receive an ‘A’ rating with .24 eco-points meaning minimal environmental impact, compared to the other existing PVC flooring which got a ‘B’ rating with 1.82 eco-points. “Our new colorations, combined with Optima’s proven beauty, durability and ease-of-maintenance makes the product one of the best options for any commercial interior,” explains de Beaumont. “Designers, specifiers and facility managers are sure to find that with Optima, any design, performance and environmental requirement is easily satisfied.”
