Tandus Names New Vice President of Marketing

Dalton, GA, June 24--Tandus, a leading manufacturer of commercial floorcoverings, recently refined its marketing organization by naming Tom Ellis Vice President of Marketing. In his new role, Ellis will be responsible for the strategic market direction for the education, healthcare and government markets. "We consider Tom a tremendous asset to this company and his expertise enables us to serve our customers more strategically," said Lee Schilling, Senior Vice President, Tandus. "During the four years in which he had marketing responsibility for the education segment, Tom was instrumental in helping grow that business at a double-digit rate." Tandus recently announced a new sales and marketing strategy that more efficiently responds to the needs of the marketplace. Operating as an umbrella organization to support its outstanding product brands - Monterey, C&A and Crossley, four sales organizations represent all products and services to a narrowly focused customer base. "Having been involved in the evolution of this company over the past few years, I'm very excited about the opportunities offered by the broader perspective of this role," said Ellis. "Among the changes that our new strategy has brought about is an even stronger commitment to market segmentation. We've broken down several of our segments even further, subdividing healthcare, education, and government, to become even more focused in these important and viable markets. We are confident in our expectations for growth and success in these areas." Ellis joined C&A in 1998 as General Manager, Education Markets, and has been actively involved with the company's focus on indoor air quality and surrounding environmental issues. He brings 20 years of industry experience to his new role. He served as a regional sales manager for Formica Corp. for nine years and represented Armstrong World Industries in both the commercial wall coverings and architectural building products divisions for seven years.
