Tandus Gets ISO 14001 Certification in Georgia

Dalton, GA, April 2009--Carpet maker Tandus has received ISO 14001 certification for its manufacturing facilities in Dalton and Calhoun, Georgia.

ISO 14001 is a third-party certification that requires an organization to establish, document and continuously improve an Environmental Management System.

“Tandus’ ISO 14001 certification further demonstrates our continuing dedication to minimize the effects manufacturing processes can have on the environment,” said CEO Glen Hussmann.

In 2008, the company increased the amount of post consumer carpet it recycles to over 145,000,000 pounds. Landfill waste was reduced by 25% and water by 35% and one location reduced air emissions by 50%.
