Tandus Expands Virtual Sample to Powerbond

Dalton, GA, Nov. 1, 2010 -- Tandus Flooring has taken its Green Virtual Sample system a step further with the introduction of the Powerbond Virtual Sample printed to actual size.

The patent-pending six-foot wide print design provides a Powerbond sample without producing physical flooring samples. Powerbond is a hybrid resilient sheet flooring with heterogeneous construction of nylon and closed cell cushion.

The Powerbond Virtual Samples debuted with the product style District, the award-winning style that launched to the public in late summer 2010.

Specifiers and owners are able to now see District’s pattern displayed in a true six-foot wide non-repeat through a process that matches the design to actual scale and pattern. Tandus said that more than 500 virtual samples of District are already in the market place.

“These samples demonstrate a unique full scale representation of Powerbond designs in a six-foot wide print that before has never been created," said Tom Ellis, vice president of marketing.

The virtual sample system will help the company reduce its environmental footprint, it said, by saving 10,000 pounds of nylon, 44,800 gallons of water saved and 216,000,000 BTU of energy. In addition, it won't have to produce 72,000 square feet of product.
