Tandus Announces Winners of Design Awards
Dalton, GA, April 23, 2010--Tandus Flooring announced the winners of the second annual Inspirations Awards competition last week. The Inspirations program recognizes leadership in socially responsible design among commercial interior designers and architects.
Inspirations’ top honors went to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri project designed by Trivers Associates of St. Louis, MI and to Putnam Place designed by Boston-based Tsoi/ Kobus. Both firms will receive a $5,000 cash award from Tandus Flooring as a donation for their respective projects.
There were also four honorable mentions recognized: Cooper Cary, Inc. of Atlanta, GA for the design of Building Hope and MCN Build in Washington, D.C.; SERA Architects of Portland, OR for the p:ear project in Portland; The Bommarito Group in Austin, in collaboration with Lake|Flato, for the design of the Lance Armstrong Foundation in Austin; and BeeDance for Zero Landfill initiative in Ohio.
“The Inspirations program is important because it raises awareness about the difference good design can make in under-served communities," said Ross Leonard, director of marketing for Tandus Flooring.
