Susan Buffett Estate to Sell Berkshire Shares

Omaha, NE, August 10--Berkshire Hathaway Inc. said that the estate of recently deceased Susan Buffett would sell 1,200-1,500 of the company's class A stock over the next two years to pay taxes, expenses and other cash bequests. The company, which is controlled by billionaire investor Warren Buffett, said that the remainder of her stock holdings, which would have a value of several billion dollars, would be transferred to the Buffett Foundation charity, of which Susan Buffett had been president. Shares of Berkshire Hathaway's class A stock were off 1.7 percent at $84,305 in trading on the New York Stock Exchange. Susan Buffett, Warren Buffett's wife, died of a stroke late last month while the two were visiting friends in Cody, Wyoming. She was 72, and been a director of Berkshire since 1991 and owned about $3 billion worth of the company's stock, or 2.2 percent of the company.
