Surfaces Taps INSTALL Leader for Town Hall Panel

Kansas City, MO, Jan. 22--David T. Meberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Carpet and a member of the International Standards and Training Alliance (INSTALL) Labor-Management Committee, will serve as the installation expert at the Surfaces 2004 Town Hall meeting. Meberg heads this third-generation New York family business, which has expanded over its 60 years from a small workroom to one of the largest independent full-service floorcovering contractors in the industry. Meberg is chairman of INSTALL’s marketing committee, and has played an active role in increasing awareness of INSTALL over the past 18 months. At the Town Hall meeting, Meberg will field installation questions, and is expected to comment on the shortage of installers, recruitment, and skill development. The Town Hall meeting, slated to kick off the three-day exhibition, will feature experts from all facets of the flooring industry. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 28, at 7:30 a.m. at the Venetian Hotel and is expected to last 90 minutes. After the Town Hall meeting, Meberg will be at the INSTALL booth, #7348, on the upper level. In fact, Meberg created this year’s theme for INSTALL’s booth: "Specify Quality. Specify INSTALL." Materials at the booth will focus on specifiers, and on providing them with an opportunity to learn about the importance of specifying what type of professional to install a particular design. A video presentation, sample specification language, information about continuing education opportunities, and one-on-one meetings will be offered to specifiers visiting the booth.
