Supreme Court Upholds ObamaCare

Washington, DC, June 28, 2012 -- The Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare, was upheld by the Supreme Court Thursday in a 5-4 vote.

There was widespread speculation that the court would strike down all or a portion of the healthcare legislation. In essence, it let stand the controversial individual mandate as a tax.

The ruling paves the way for the law to take full effect in 2014.
