Summer Rug Market Gets Underway July 14
Atlanta, GA, June 10, 2011 -– The world’s largest collection of area rugs will be the centerpiece of The Atlanta International Area Rug Market July 14—17, which is staged together with the July 13—20 Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.
The Area Rug Center continues as the core of more than 2 million square feet of home furnishings products.
There will also be a series of rug-industry featured events and educational programs, including:
• Mix-Amize Profits with Area Rugs, 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 14. A presentation by Andy Fried, business consultant at Kennesaw State University, will demonstrate how the proper pricing tactics and strategies for Area rugs can drive profits and are easy to implement.
• The Oriental Rug Importers Association (ORIA) CF Rug Auction to benefit ORIA Charitable Fund will take place. View more than 20 rugs donated by ORIA members, all of which are open for bid July 13 through July 15.
• Demystifying Area Rugs will take place Friday, July 15 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. It includes a the panel discussion with four of the world’s largest area rug manufacturers.
• Knot to be Missed will take place Saturday, July 16 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and will feature a presentation by Phil Menendian, which is geared toward helping members pass the CRA exam.
