Styron Says Lomax Exceeding Expectations

Midland, MI, Sept. 21, 2010--Styron said its Lomax Technology, which uses landfill gas to create energy for manufacturing, has exceeded its initial expectations.

The technology was first installed at its latex manufacturing site in Dalton, Georgia, in November 2007.

When Lomax technology was first installed, it was expected to reduce CO2 emissions by over 17 million pounds per year or approximately 24 million pounds of total greenhouse gas emissions.

The company said Lomax reduces the carbon footprint of carpet backing by 25%.

Styron was invited to speak at the SMART tour co-hosted by Shaw Industries Group on September 10.
