Style Limited Licenses Technology to Tarkett

Melbourne, Australia, Feb. 17, 2010--Style Limited said it signed a patent license agreement with Tarkett to manufacture a new range of green flooring products using Style’s proprietary strand woven wood technologies.

Style has developed a newly patented strand-woven wood technology that processes inexpensive, fast-growing and replenishable timber species into wood floors that exceed the strength and durability of their tropical hardwood rivals – potentially saving tropical forests and native hardwood plantations in the process.

Under agreement, Style will license its technologies to Tarkett to manufacture and sell multilayered flooring products within specific markets on a non-exclusive basis. Initially, Style will produce for Tarkett its patented “wear layer” products at Style’s Chinese manufacturing facility as Tarkett completes development of its own manufacturing facilities in Europe.

Once Tarkett’s facilities are completed and functional, Tarkett will manufacture the defined Style products itself.

Since April 2009, when Style and Tarkett entered into an initial Memorandum of Understanding, the companies have been involved in extensive negotiations and the development of a number of prototype products.
