StonExpo & Marmomacc Announce Endorsement Agreemen

Dallas, TX, April 20--Marmomacc, the world's largest and most prestigious exhibition in the natural stone industry, and StonExpo, the leading North American exhibition for the stone industry, have entered into a mutual endorsement agreement. These two industry leading events will combine efforts to ensure maximum exposure and growth for the stone industry and their respective shows. By working together Marmomacc and StonExpo demonstrate their commitment to the stone industry and its future growth and success. Attendees and exhibitors at both events will benefit through expanded and far-reaching promotional efforts, increased show attendance and enhanced educational opportunities. Marmomacc - the International Exhibition of Marble Stone and Technology is the world's largest and oldest specialized trade fair in the stone industry - completed its 39th edition in November 2004. The event registered more than 1,400 companies exhibiting in 63,000 net square meters (678,000 net square feet), with more than 61,000 trade attendees during the 4 days of the show. "We are very enthusiastic about starting co-operation with Hanley Wood Exhibitions, the leading show organizer and editorial group in the field of building and construction in the U.S.," says Mauro Albano, executive of Marmomacc. "We are aware that through their extensive network Marmomacc will have more visibility in the U.S. market which will help us to create an even better interface with U.S. manufacturers, suppliers and also with U.S. architects." The joint endorsement by each event of the other assures that both shows will now expand their reach and global significance. No other U.S. event will be able to provide the worldwide scope of these events and the new dynamic that StonExpo will offer. "As the producers of StonExpo, we are delighted to be working with the leadership of Marmomacc and the Veronafiere to jointly promote our events and the importance of the global stone industry," says Galen Poss, president, Hanley Wood Exhibitions. "The endorsement of StonExpo by Marmomacc validates the importance of StonExpo and the North American stone industry." As the use of stone continues to grow around the world, it is important for the industry to keep pace with the demands of the industry. Marmomacc and StonExpo are committed to meeting the needs of quarries, manufacturers and suppliers, as well as the end users. Thousands of architects, designers, fabricators, builders and others rely on stone for their construction needs and will be looking to these events for the latest products, services and information to expand the usage of these products. "MIA is extremely excited about the endorsement between the leading stone show in the U.S.-StonExpo, and the leading stone show worldwide-Marmomacc, organized by VeronaFiere. This puts two very powerful brands in the stone industry together and is sure to strengthen each of the shows, and the industry in general," says Gary Distelhorst, Executive Vice President, Marble Institute of America. "This is a natural progression from the sale of StonExpo to Hanley Wood-the leading media company in residential construction-to a partnership with the largest and most established trade show in the world. This is clearly a winner and MIA is really proud to be a part of it." Both events provide the leading education for the stone industry. Mauro Albano of Marmomacc adds, "Veronafiere, organizer of Marmomacc, has been an official provider of AIA - American Institute of Architects - since 1999 organizing Continuing Educational Courses for architects on the use of stone materials in contemporary architecture. Marmomacc is also recognized as official provider of educational courses by the RAIC - Royal Architectural Institute of Canada - and by the RIBA - Royal Institute of British Architects."
