Stanton Buys Schumacher Carpet Business

Long Island, NY, Oct. 5, 2010--Stanton Carpet, a manufacturer and importer of decorative branded carpet and custom rugs, said it has acquired the carpet wholesale dealer distribution business of F. Schumacher & Co.

The transaction is specific to the carpet wholesale dealer distribution business and has no affect on the custom rug business or any other businesses of Schumacher.

F. Schumacher distribution business serves the high end of the market with patterned carpets, mainly in woven wool.

The Schumacher carpet products will transition to be marketed exclusively under the Rosecore brand name. The Stanton & Schumacher carpet design teams, through a longer term agreement, will collaborate to design new products enabling the new Rosecore line to grow.

The main focus for Stanton is to grow with the existing account base of Schumacher carpet, now Rosecore. The new Rosecore products will continue to be sold through its existing network of sales agents and will be led full time by Bob Tucci, currently a vice president with Stanton.

Stanton will assume all operational responsibilities and re-locate the inventory to its Calhoun, Georgia based distribution center.

According to Jonathan Cohen, COO of Stanton, "The Schumacher carpet products have a unique position in the very high style end of the market, particularly with Wiltons. The products are very different from Stanton, the Rosecore brand will act as a great complement to our existing assortment."

According to Mason Morjikian, vice president of Schumacher Carpet, "This deal will enable Schumacher to expedite its growth strategies in its core businesses and allow the Rosecore brand to flourish with Stanton’s vast carpet resources." The products will be marketed exclusively under the Rosecore brand.

Rosecore also said it will be showing at Surfaces 2011.
