Sphinx Launches New Warhol Group
Dalton, GA, July 6, 2007--Sphinx by Oriental Weavers announced today plans to add a new series of designs to the innovative and fashion-forward Andy Warhol Home collection as well as additions to its ever-popular Ariana, Luxor, and Allure collections.
Introduced in 2004, the Andy Warhol Home collection took the marketplace by storm with its cutting-edge contemporary designs that were inspired by the late artist’s portfolio of work. Now, with the same sense of style and rule-breaking form that made the first generation of area rugs an instant success, Sphinx has created an entirely new series of art for the floor. An assortment of both machine made and handmade rugs, this new selection draws from the bold black, white, and red trends found in both home décor and ready-to-wear fashion, as well as the subtle shading and softer tones that are reflective of current contemporary area rug trends. Machine made patterns are 100% heat-set polypropylene with hand-carving and will retail for $299 in size 5’3”x7’9”. Handcrafted patterns are 100% wool and will retail for $499 in 5’x8’.
Showcasing timeless elegance at its finest, the Ariana collection’s wide range of traditional design motifs is a cornerstone in Sphinx’s product assortment. Inspired by the styling and craftsmanship of antique Persian carpets, each Ariana pattern combines the look and feel of a true handmade collector’s rug with the latest colors and trends in home décor. Featuring a million-plus point construction of 100% heat-set polypropylene, Ariana offers worry-free styling for every home. Debuting this market season will be 12 new designs in Ariana reflecting not only current design trends which utilize larger elements and more open fields, but also the heritage of finely crafted heirlooms. Retailing for just $299 in a size 5’3”x7’9”, Ariana provides sophistication and quality at a value price point.
