Dalton, GA, June 3--Sphinx is adding rounds, squares, and over-sized rugs to some of their most popular collections as well as to recent introductions. Sphinx now offers more than 250 rounds, 90 Squares, and 300 mansion-sized area rugs.
As decorating trends begin moving more and more toward making a statement, Sphinx by Oriental Weavers is adding even more special shapes and larger, room-sized rugs to their line as a way of using area rugs to create interest in home decor.
Two of Sphinx’s most popular collections, Ariana and Genre, will now even offer 8’ squares in all styles. Another recent introduction, the Solutions Collection, is being offered in an 8’ round.
Andy Warhol Home, introduced in January 2004, which has been expanded in recent months with scatters, rounds, and squares, will now be available in a 6’7” x 9’6”, further increasing the versatility of this unique line of rugs inspired by the artist’s portfolio.
Sphinx is also adding a 10’x13’ size to two recent introductions. The Tones Collection, featuring rich neutrals in sleek geometrics and styles of urban simplicity, was introduced in January at the Atlanta Area Rug Market and is already being expanded with the larger size. Similarly, Sphinx’s latest licensed collection, Woolrich Home Summerstone Falls, was introduced at the High Point Market in April and will be available in a 10’x13’.
"Trends in new home construction and open floor plans have made way for unique shapes and dramatic-size area rugs, and today’s consumer is willing to think outside the traditional rectangle and add a bit of flair and creativity with an area rug," according to Mike Riley, executive vice president for Sphinx. "We are making a consistent effort to meet those needs by offering more and more sizes and shapes in our line so that consumers have the option to express themselves not only through design and color, but also in the shape of an area rug," says Riley.
Sphinx’s existing product line includes a variety of shapes and sizes such as 5’, 6’, and 8’ rounds, squares, ovals, octagons, and mansion-size 12’ x 15’ area rugs. The company plans to continue expanding its size options in the existing line as well as future introductions.
