Specifix, AR Flooring App, Makes Contest Semi-Finals
Highland Park, IL, October 18. 2017-On October 11, Jerry Freeman, president and founder of Specifix gave a five-minute presentation to fifteen judges and top-tier investors from around the world in the Entrepreneurs Star contest. After all of the rapid-fire presentations were over, Specifix had won its right to be among the top 20 significant winners in the semi-final round of the contest with a chance to compete for the $1.0 million prize.
“This was a significant vote of confidence in our product,” stated Freeman, president of Specifix. “All of the judges raised their hands when we asked if they had made a flooring decision in the recent past.“ Jerry continued, “They recognized our unique solution for the pain-points a consumer, architect and designer experience in selecting the right flooring for their projects.”
The Entrepreneurs Star contest is the largest pitch competition in the Midwest. This initiative is joined by over 30 institutions across eight states. Build312’s goal is to provide local startups with the best resources to facilitate their success, and to integrate the Midwest startup community with a broader, global one.
Specifix is an iOS mobile app that utilizes algorithm technology to augment real world spaces with thousands of branded products in real-time, created to assist consumers who want to see their space digitally transformed before they purchase. Unlike virtual reality images of pre-existing spaces and products, augmenting real world spaces in real time with products as they would appear installed lets consumers and sellers see their installation before they buy. Augmenting the real space also insures the new floor will coordinate with existing design features and provide the best possible outcome. The consumer is now a more confident participant in the design process and more satisfied in the buying decision.
The Specifix App is now being sold to flooring dealers, manufacturers, and building owners, after ending its beta testing in July.
