Spanish Tile Association Gets New President

Onda, Spain, July 28, 2009--Joaquín Piñón Gaya has been named president of ASCER, the Spanish ceramic tile manufacturers’ association.

He replaces Fernando Diago, who had led the association for 11 years.

“Becoming president of ASCER is a source of pride, a responsibility and a challenge that should be taken up with enthusiasm and dedication but at the same time humility,” Gaya said.

His priorities includes environmental policies, internationalization, promoting the Tile of Spain brand, improved customer service and continued efforts in product innovation.

Gaya heads the family-owned ceramic company Gayafores. He is also president of the Ceramic Technology Institute (ITC) and vice president of Cevisama.
